Where did the idea for In the Realm of the Golden Queen come from?
The Golden Queen was originally a story told to my counsellor Pauline Skeates
Have you published any other books?
I have illustrated another book, Santa’s Little Helper by Bill Barlett. I did the photography and the layout for the book, while my daughter Amber did the illustrations.
How long have you been writing?
I have been writing poetry since I was about 14 years old. I started to persue writing as a career about six years ago.
What are you working on now?
I am at present studying for a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing. I have a novel under way called The Girls Gun Club which is about a group of housewives who take up shooting as a hobby. I continue to write poetry daily and am working on the second book in the Golden Queen series.
What authors have inspired you?
My favourite author is Iain M. Banks, a Scottish writer who also writes Science Fiction under the name Iain Banks. I have a verocious appitite for reading and will read most books. My favourite genre is Science Fiction although I don’t write in that genre, as yet.
Who are you reading at the moment?
This week I am reading Frost in May by Antonia White and Stalky and Co by Rudyard Kipling.
